Next Saturday will see the first fundraising golf tournament for the Lui Bell Memorial Scholarship Programme at Faleata Golf Course.
The Lui Bell Post-Graduate Scholarship for Marine Species Conservation was set up in 2013 by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environament Programme (S.P.R.E.P) in honour of the late Lui Bell, Marine Species Advisor for S.P.R.E.P and passionate marine conservationist.

The idea behind the golf tournament was set up by Lui Bell’s wife and children as a way of continuing to contribute on behalf of their father to help carry on the legacy of what he loved doing most in life.
“We want to say thank you to current sponsors; Pinati’s Restaurant, Samoa Stationary and Books, Samoa Breweries Limited, Le Well, Samoa Shipping, Samoa Beverage Company and the Ifopo Family who have contributed immensely,” a statement from the family says.
Organisers urge golf fans to come on down next week to enjoy the breeze of Tuanaimato and support the Lui Bell Scholarship Programme.
