To God be all the glory.
That was the message to 24 graduates of the Malua Theological College who celebrated sweet success during a packed ceremony yesterday. The graduates earned Diplomas of Theology, Bachelor of Divinity and Bachelor of Theology degrees after endless nights and days of studies.
One student was awarded a scholarship to study towards his Masters in Theology in Fiji next year. Reverend Elder Toese Peleti Toailoa, who conducted the service, told the graduates not to take pride in their achievements.
“If the people praise your work, do not be proud of it but be humble and give all the glory to the Lord,” he said. “This is the end of one thing and the beginning of a new chapter. Go, perform your duties that God has called you to do. Whatever work, whatever duty that you are called to do, may the Lord bless you abundantly.” Principal of Malua Theological College, Reverend Dr. Afereti Uili thanked all the families and everyone for their support in so many ways. Filemoni Crawley, who is heading to Fiji for his Masters, said the award is not something to be proud of.
“The glory is unto God for He is always with us,” he said. “I truly believe that without his leadership through His Holy spirit, we wouldn’t be here today.”
Petelo Matavani Pauga couldn’t agree more.
“It has been a tough road and four years has not been easy,” he said.
“There were a lot of challenges but I thank God that I have made it through.”
“Without him, I wouldn’t be here celebrating today with families, friends and my graduating class.”
