As the coronation night for the first Miss Pacific Islands gets closer, the eight ladies from around the Pacific have been engaging most of their time showcasing the unique performing arts of their respective home countries.
Part of the weeklong campaign is a lunchtime show every day in a makeshift stage in front of the Government building.
On Monday Miss American Samoa Anneliese Fa’aitumalo and Miss Nauru Kauai Margreta Oppenheimer both danced to the delight of the small crowd.
Yesterday, Miss Papua New Guinea Grace Nugi joined hands with the audience to do some chanting and jumping PNG style while Miss Samoa Latafale Auva’a led the contestants in singing Christmas carols.
The other ladies competing are Miss Cook Islands Antonina Browne, Miss Fiji Nanise Noel Rainima, Miss Niue Nina Nemaia, and Miss Tonga Cassandra Ngaluafe.
Today, the Miss Fiji and Miss Tonga will be showcasing their countries unique performing arts.
The ladies will also be visiting the Mapuifagalele Home for the Aged.
The Pageant night will be held at Gym 1 Tuanaimato and general admission tickets cost $30.
