The Editor of the government-owned Savali Newspaper, Tupuola Terry Tavita, was arrested and is being held in Police custody.

Assistant Police Commissioner and Police spokesperson, Fauono Talalelei Tapu, confirmed the arrest yesterday.
According to Fauono, Tupuola was arrested last Saturday afternoon in relation to a complaint lodged by a member of the public against his behaviour.
Fauono declined to comment on the nature of the complaint against Tupuola.
“We are not releasing any information about why he is in custody because our investigation is underway,” he said.
“At this stage, I also have not been informed about a charge (against Tupuola).
“The Criminal Investigation Division is currently working on the case and when everything is finalised, all relevant information will be released.”
Attempts to get a comment from the Ministry of the Prime Minister, under which Tupuola is employed as the Head of the Media and Communications Division as well as a key official “The Criminal Investigation Division is currently working on the case and when everything is fi nalised, all relevant information will be released” – Fauono for Prime Minister Tuilaepa, were not successful.
The Office of the Prime Minister is on commissioned holidays with the majority of the public service until next week. According to Fauono, however, Tupuola spent the weekend in Police custody where he remained yesterday.
“He is still in Police custody until further notice,” he said.
“We have started an investigation into the complaint lodged against the accused and we will get back to you when that is completed.”
