For the past two days, the descendants of Nimoe and Auva’a Viliamu Anitema have been gathering at Vaitele-uta for a time of sharing and a ‘getting to know one another’.

The event is the third time the family has had a reunion.
Both Nimoe, of Safotu, Savai’i, and Auva’a of Satupa’itea have been called home to be with their Maker. But their descendants have multiplied in numbers and they now live all over the world. As of 2014, the family boasts four generations, with the number of family members climbing to more than 150.
This year’s gathering is organised by the first generation of Auva’a and Nimoe’s children. Reunion Chairman, Pastor Livi Viliamu Auva’a, said the gathering is a priceless opportunity to reacquaint and catch up. Nimoe and Auva’a had 11 children.
One has passed on with the remaining ten living in Samoa and overseas. The next reunion is in 2017.
