This was relayed by Leituala Dr Ben Matalavea, Manager of the Clinical Services of the National Hospital Services to the Samoa Observer yesterday.
The Phase two of the hospital which was opened last December was funded through a loan from China.
He said that the Emergency unit will be open seven days a week 24 hours a day.
Leituala said the N.H.S. has other plans for the building which currently houses the Emergency and General Operations department.
More details in relation to the change will be released by the Health authorities in the coming days.
