Businesswoman and mother of four, Elizabeth Chan Tung-Peters, is the newest lawyer to have been admitted to the Samoan bar.
She was sworn in by Chief Justice, His Honour Patu Tiava’asu’e Falefatu Sapolu, yesterday in the Supreme Court.
Relatives, colleagues and friends were present to witness the event.
The wife of Tuautu Ross Peters, of Alafua, she undertook her law degree studies online at the University of the South Pacific. She studied on a part time basis, on top of having to deal her family’s business and four daughters.
She finished her legal professional training in New Zealand.
Although studying was challenging at times, she said the journey has been worthwhile.
She said she always wanted to become a lawyer.
Mrs. Peters said the guidance of God over her work and she thanked everyone who supported her along the way.
