The Falelima Primary School project included the provision of 190 desks and chairs, four PC sets, one copier, 1 printer, 2 X 4 drawers filing cabinets, 2 x 3 drawers filing cabinet, 2 x 6ft folding tables with 12 folding chairs. The total cost of the project was over ST50,000.

C.S.S.P. said the problem at Falelima Primary School was – ‘not enough desks and chairs’.

The school committee sought assistance from C.S.S.P. to fund additional desks and chairs for the school so that every student could sit properly on a chair and at a desk and concentrate well on the lessons taught in class.

It is hoped that these resources will help increase the school roll and improve student performances.

FOR FALELIMA PRIMARY SCHOOL: 190 desks and chairs and more.A prayer service was conducted by Rev. Ale Pālelei of the Methodist Church at Falelima. Another milestone was the opening of the Auala Loving Heart Pre-School project. The C.S.S.P. provided ST33,000 and the Pre-School contributions were $20,539.67.

C.S.S.P. said the Pre School committee noticed the drop in the level of education in their village.

NEW RESOURCES: Students of Falelima Primary School. The village council decided that one way to solve the problem of a falling roll was to have a preschool in the village to better prepare their children before entering primary level. This decision was taken in the hopes that they would continue to stay in school right through to tertiary level.

C.S.S.P. was set up by the Government of Samoa, in association with the Australian Government (AusAID) and the European Union, in recognition of the contribution of civil society to national, social and economic development. Their support is also given to health, education and other sectors.

The C.S.S.P. was established in 2010.
