The Saturday Seventh Day Adventist Church has launched its new Theological College.
The launch of the Tuamafa Theological College was held at Vaivase on Sunday. Eight students received special certificates as the first students of the school.
Ministry Leader, Dr. Jerry Puni said the school is to encourage church members to get to know the Word of God better. The School is to train leaders within the church.
“Tuamafa is an old pigeon that leads flocks. It flies and others will follow,” Dr. Puni said.
“We need leaders who are well educated in the Word of God and seek God’s will for his people”.
At Tuamafa, Dr. Puni said the door is open for anyone.
“If anyone who wants to join in, we welcome you – you will have achieved certificates for one year, diploma for two years and BA for three weeks.
Dr. Puni acknowledged the headmaster of the Ministry of Tuamafa Adventist Theological School, Professor. Dr. Edmund Alfred Parker and his wife Dr. Glennys Parker. “It’s a great privilege to be here today,” Dr. Parker said.
“Jerry asked me today to talk on the value of education. Education is something that never finishes it keeps going and going… it never ends.”
Leala Segi Laikum, representative of the 2015 class, said the establishment of the College is a great help for them.
“To all Saturday Sabbath Keepers, members from Leauva’a Church, Fasito’o-tai and Samatau – thank you for your great support. We shall continue to grow and multiply and move forward in the name of Jesus.”
Lectures include Pastor Ativale Mulitalo, Pastor Tuni Laikum, Pastor Sioeli Puni and Pastor Lauina Vagana.
