Samoa Touch rugby again remains the Champions of Pacific touch rugby mix grade after upsetting Tournament favorites and 3rd ranked team in the world PNG 9-7 to win Gold at the Pacific Games in Port Morsby.
After claiming Silver in both the Women’s and Men’s grade earlier in the week, a huge team effort was required for Samoa to beat the 3rd best team in the World.
President for the Samoa Touch Association Hobart Vaai says; “This is what we trained hard for 18 months straight, to win this Gold. I am over the moon right now!, All Glory to God for this victory”
“All my players, coaching staff of Lerissa Fong and Tyron Lam did an amazing job”.
“Many sports questioned us going, but the fact remains since 2007 we only bring Gold every Pacific Games tournament we attend, we only know how to win, its our Culture, doesn’t matter who we play we’ll fight you to the end”.
Samoa Touch team returns Monday night from PNG.
