Manu Samoa ready for the World

GO MANU SAMOA: Captain Ofisa Treviranus, Coach Stephen Betham, Manager Namulauulu Sami Leota, Assistant Coach, Namualuulu Alama Ieremia and Vice-captain, Alesana Tuilagi, at the offi cial farewell for the Manu Samoa at the Samoa Tourism Authority (S.T.A) Cultural Village yesterday. The team, which has been camping in Samoa, departs tonight on their way to the United Kingdom for pre-tournament fixtures against Wasps and the Barbarians.Acting Prime Minister, Fonotoe Pierre Lauofo, has encouraged the Manu Samoa to play for their families, country and God.

The message was delivered during a government-hosted a farewell for the Manu Samoa before the team departs tonight for the United Kingdom.

The Manu will play two pretournament matches against Wasps and the Barbarians before the World Cup kicks off.

Yesterday, Fonotoe told captain Ofisa Treviranus and his men that they are carrying the hopes of the nation.

“Remember, you are flag carriers and ambassadors for your country to the world,” Fonotoe said, adding that the players have God as their greatest helper at all times.

Team Manager Namulauulu Sami Leota thanked the government, supporters, sponsors and everyone for their continuous support.

“Thank you very much for all that you done for the Manu Samoa,” he said. He added that the team is as prepared as they could be and will do their best to make Samoa proud.
