The seawall is not a place to dump carcasses.
So says a worker for Lucky Construction who was among a group who found a cattle thigh rotting on the seawall yesterday.
He said someone must have dumped it there on Sunday morning. “We were working here on Saturday and there was nothing like this,” said the worker. “However, when we came today, I saw the boys standing here and they were all looking at this."
“It’s a very disturbing view and it’s a good thing it’s not a human body. I’m particularly sad because this is happening during a week when there are so many visitors to Samoa."
“We should all work together to keep our country beautiful.”
When the Samoa Observer arrived yesterday, the piece of carcass had attracted flies and was beginning to smell.
“I suspect that this came from a fa’alavelave and somehow whoever left it here must found that it was no longer safe for consumption so they just dumped it here."
“This is irresponsible.”
