Samoa is pooled with Japan, South Africa, Scotland and the United States of America in their World Cup pool.

“Our pool is not easy but we’re preparing ourselves for this….to us, nothing is impossible when we trust God’s help,” he said.

“We've got to stay patient, strong and make sure that we do the right thing to stay positive.”

Alesana believes that the hopes of the country are with the team and that’s a heavy burden.

“We need to add in more energy before the big tournament because the whole country is firmly behind us.”

For Manu Samoa hooker, Manu Leiataua, the World Cup is about giving everything for Samoa.

“Everybody’s put in the hard work and it’s a tough task - going into the World Cup,” he said.

“Everyone is pretty focussed and the boys are looking pretty good.”

Manu has signed to play for Aurillac in the French Pro D2 for the next two years.

Manu Samoa halfback, Kahn Fotuali'i confesses that he was really proud to be part of the team to the world cup.

“It’s international rugby it’s totally different to playing club rugby.”

Going to the World Cup?

“Everyone is determined to do very well - with us players?

- everybody aims to play in the World Cup and hopefully doing my part well will help the team.”

“We are not there yet, but hopefully we’ll get through and we’ll do our best for Samoa.” “If we do what we can to the best of our abilities, then we’ll be fine.”

Fotuali’i has been based in England for the past four years, playing for Northhampton Saints.
