Turning 90 is a milestone.
And so it was for Taefu Li’a Siufaga who was born at Falelatai on 11 February 1924.
His family friends and neighbours came together to mark this special time in Taefu’s life at Wellington, on 16th February this year in New Zealand.
His children who organised the event give thanks and glory to God for the strength and life of their father. Taefu married Filomena Tauinaola Iosefo, of Nofoali’i who, sadly, passed away in 1980.
The couple had six children.
After Taefu’s many years of service to his village and family in Samoa, he migrated to New Zealand nine years later.

The celebration of Taefu’s birthday was a beautiful event with many people providing donations and other contributions to the event.
His children are most thankful to those who attended and contributed to the event through prayers and presents in various forms.
Taefu, according to his children, is loving, hardworking, faithful and honest. He is a grandfather to 18 children and a great-grandfather to 11.
The family are most thankful to Pastor Jo Tesese of Wellington who led the prayer service in blessing Taefu’s special day, Pastor Aukuso Vaimoli from Auckland, Rev. Ron Lauese from Auckland, and Deacon Paulo Savaiinaea from Lower Hutt.
