The 20-year-old from Fatausi, Savai’i, graduated with a certificate in document production, and was in tears throughout the entire graduation ceremony.

“I am from a family that survived [on] a small amount of money daily,” she said.“That didn’t stop my parents from sending me this year to Tesese Institute. Even though my family didn’t have enough money to survive and send me to school this year…they did.. and now, I finally made it.”

“I want to thank God [and] especially my family for their support, you’re the reason [for] every good thing that has happened in my life…I am very happy and grateful for your support.”

The graduate wants to continue studying, but this is likely to be her last year. “I want to do further studies but my brother was the only one that provides for our family.”

“I believed that I could do more and more in life through education but that dream will never pass because of financial difficulties in my family. That’s why it’s too hard for me to continue on in my education…next year. That feeling of standing inside with my graduates’ class this year humbled myself to the man above for His greatness.”

“I am still praying for a miracle (financial support) so that I could go on with my studies next year.”

The hopeful student came from Tuasivi College. Those wanting to help her continue her studies can reach her on 772-8177.
