“The Police passed onto my Office the relevant file on 6th November 2013,” Attorney General Aumua Ming Leung Wai wrote in response to questions from Samoa Observer.
“My office is concurrently reviewing it.”
Aumua said that there are a few outstanding matters that the Investigating Officer has to attend to.
“Once those matters are attended to, my Office would be able to complete the review.”
He hopes that will happen in the “next few weeks” if not sooner.
It has been more than two months since the incident involving a routine police patrol and the two government MPs.
Associate Minister Muagututaga Peter Ah Him had been stopped by police for an illegal u-turn and was asked to take a breath test after an officer smelt alcohol on his breath.
Ah Him drove off from police after failing to take a breath test properly, following intervention from Deputy Prime Minister Fonotoe Nuafesili Pierre Laufo.
This traffic stop involving the two members of Parliament occurred on 4 October this year in front of the Development Bank of Samoa building at Savalalo.
