The major sponsors for the Manu Samoa team organized a lunch at the Samoa Tradition Resort at Ululoloa to welcome back the team after conquering Fiji last weekend.
Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Mailelegaoi, Deputy Prime Minister Fonotoe Pierre Lauofo and members of Parliament were present to congratulate the team.
Tuilaepa acknowledged the Manu Samoa team for their efforts against Fiji. He congratulated captain, David Lemi, for an inspiring performance, leading his men to victory.
Tuilaepa, however, reminded them that this is not the end of it and they have a lot of work to do before the World Cup next year.
“We are so happy with your performance and I just want to congratulate you all for your hard work,” he said.
“However I also want to encourage you all at this time in your preparation for the World Cup.
“Don’t take it lightly, you have to work hard and train hard and most importantly you have to be fit.”
