The Prime Minster and the Chairman of the Alliance of Small Island States from Nauru are also expected to make presentations at the launch.

This is a milestone event for the United Nations in celebrating this year especially for the Small Island States.

This is also an important year for Samoa in hosting the Small Island Developing States conference in September.

Samoa, as host country, will also reveal the progress of its preparations for the SIDS conference at a special side event to the global launch.

The Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Aiono Mose Pouvi Sua and National Coordinator for the UN Conference on SIDS, Faalavaau Perina Sila are accompanying the Prime Minister.
