The run started at the Falls bridge toward Fagaloa-Tai with the finish line back at the bridge. It was a fantastic event to finish off a very busy year for Samoa Events.
In the 10km event – Shane Taivai Paulo of Fagali’i took out the title in the men’s race, just ahead of Angus Beveridge. Karen Artis of Noosa,
Queensland won the women’s race. In the 5km race Bernie Poort of ANZ Bank won his first ever running race. Maddie Dashiel of Melbourne won the women’s 5km race. In the 3km distance Bea Carey took out the overall race.
It was not surprising that there were no personal bests set on Saturday. The terrain had a lot to do with that – there were some steep hills in the course. However that was offset by view and panoramic scenery of Falefa Bay.
The Falefa Falls run will now be contested twice next year as the opening and closing event of 2015 (February 7th and November 21st).
