At least two thousand Samoans benefitted from a five-day free Medical and Dental Outreach undertaken by Hand of Hope, the mission arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries.
In partnership with the Fortress of Faith Samoa, the mission coordinated by local Cardiologist, Professor Dr. Satu Viali with assistance from Dr. Mafu Asaua, made excellent use of four doctors and nine nurses who were in the country as part of the mission.
Dr. Wade Hosseini of the Hand of Hope said that their goal is to share Christ’s love to people.

“We believe that often times you have to meet the physical need before you address the spiritual need so we use the medicine as a way to come in,” he said.
The Samoa mission is Dr. Hosseini’s 29th outreach in four years.
The common illnesses they encountered were: hypertension, high blood pressure, iabetes and bad teeth on children. He said they also came across cases of respiratory infections relating to smoking and cardiac problems.
Hand of Hope purchased the medicines locally so that the patients can still have access to the medicine.
All throughout last week the mission went around the island: Monday- Lauli’i EFKS Hall, Tuesday- Falefa EFKS Hall, Wednesday-Sapunaoa EFKS Hall, Thursday- Vailuutai EFKS Hall, and Friday- Leauvaa Catholic Hall.
Fr. Iosefo Mulipola, Parish priest of St Michael’s Parish said it’s a blessing “for us and for this people who are coming all over the world.”
“It’s really a blessing not only for the people in the village as well as for the people from nearby village who came.”
Ruta Poulus, founder of Fortress of Faith Ministries thanked the whole team and acknowledged the efforts of the foreign health care providers.
“These people who came from overseas paid their own fare to come here,” she said.
“Dr Satu, leader of the mission, on some days he brought his ECG machines and machines for the heart and people are queing up for him.”
Last year, the Joyce Meyer Ministries came to Samoa and did a prison outreach.
