The first reported case was of a 51-year-old man from Lauli’i.

Fauono said the man died upon arrival at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital. Doctors confirmed that he died from the wounds he inflicted to his chest.

“The stab wounds had punctured his heart causing his death,” said Fauono.

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Ministry of Police and Prisons are investigating.

The other three cases involve a 28-year-old mother of Letogo. She committed suicide on Saturday 3 January.

The two other cases were of a 14-year-old male and 22-year-old male.
