Residents living in the area of Lalomanu near the District Hospital praise the new road that has been built by the Government for about six months now.
The new road is shortcut from Lalomanu to Samusu which means everyone living in the area does not have to go around getting to the other side but just go through straight.
Grandfather Tumua Enoka who has been living in the area for more than twenty years told the Samoa Observer yesterday that the new road has been such a relief to all of them living in the area.
“I mean I don’t have a car but I can just wait for a bus in front of my house now,” he said.
“[But] before that, we would use between families houses to get to the other side to wait for the bus if we want to go to Samusu.
“So this work has really helped a lot of us who have been living around here for so long.”
Another resident who goes by the name of Philip said the work has been a tremendous help to all of them.
“I can’t wait for it to finish, he said.
“At the moment the road is not finish but we are using it anyways and the boys who are doing the hard work from Ott Transport Company Ltd have done a wonderful job in trying to make the work done as soon as possible.”
According to the residents the work started from August last year and its continuing.
Contacting the Ott transport Company Ltd a representative told the Samoa Observer that the work will likely finish by the end of February.
