The amount of rainfall over Samoa hit a record high last Friday.
Data revealed that the amount of rainfall measured over Upolu exceeded the 50mm threshold.

Any amount higher than 50mm is considered heavy rain. Apia recorded a rainfall of 115mm, Savalalo recorded 162.8mm, Afiamalu recorded 133.2 mm while Faleolo recorded 31mm.
The heavy rain has resulted in flooding on the major streets in Apia.
Portions of Saleufi Street, Vaea Street, Convent Street and Fugalei were submerged in eight-twelve inches water.
Yesterday, 71 mm of rain was recorded in Apia, 76 mm was recorded in Savalalo, 50.2mm was recorded in Afiamalu and 30 mm of rain was recorded in Faleolo.
The heavy rain was brought in by a tropical depression which has now dissipated. However, the Meteorology Division at Mulinuu issued a heavy rainfall warning due to an Active Convergence zone over Samoa.
Clearer skies are expected today.
