The Pacific Cooperation Foundation (P.C.F.) has appointed a new Chief Executive.

Laulu Mac Leauanae joined the organisation this month, with a background working in strategic and advisory roles, predominantly with Pacific organisations.

Laulu has predominantly worked with Pacific focused organisations, including the Pacific Business Trust, ProCare Health Limited and Pure Pacifika Limited. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Masters degree in Business Administration, and has considerable practical experience in strategic operations, financial planning and project management.

Laulu has a prior association with P.C.F., having undertaken a project based role delivering the highly successful Pacific Showcase Summer Marketplace event series held at The Cloud on Auckland’s Waterfront in early 2013. P.C.F. Chairman, Peter Kiely, says, “Mac brings a wealth of engagement with Pacific communities in New Zealand and the region to P.C.F. His skills and experience will help transition P.C.F. into a new period of growth.

The Board is delighted with his appointment. It comes at a time when the Foundation is enlarging the scope of its activities while exploring new initiatives to support Pacific business growth.”

Laulu says “I am excited by the opportunity to lead P.C.F. with its special public/private sector strengths and its recognition in the region as a New Zealand partner for cooperation and development.

I look forward to working with the Board of Trustees and staff, both of whose commitment to P.C.F. I came to appreciate some time ago.”

Former P.C.F. Chief Executive, Markerita (Meg) Poutasi has taken up a senior position at the Department of Conservation (D.O.C.), as Director of Conservation Partnerships, in Auckland in October 2013.
