Leota lodged a complaint with the L.T.C in July last year, as he wanted to return to the village.

In a decision made on 28 October, 2015, the Court reaffirmed previous decisions L.C. 11469/P1 on the date 11/12/2009 and L.C. 11469 p2 on the date 17/02/2012.

The Court ruling reads: “(The Court) accepts an application, L.C. 11469 P3, from the plaintiff and the Court orders Ali’i and Faipule of Solosolo to accept the return of Leota Leulua’iali’i Ituau Ale to the village.”

In the third paragraph of the decision, it stated “there should be no reason of any political agenda since the Court orders Leota Leulua’iali’i Ituau Ale to go ahead with traditional norms as usual in returning to the village of Solosolo”.

Contacted for a comment, Leota welcomed the Court decision.

He said it had been too long and that he has been wanting to reconcile with the village. “I thank God for the wonderful decision,” said Leota. “For now, I’m preparing my traditional presentation to take to the village and as the Court decision pointed out, this (presentation) has nothing to do with any political agenda because I can’t just go back to the village with my naked chest.”

He was not rushing his presentation, he added.
