The Samoa Chamber of Commerce and the government have officially congratulated Erna Fotuofa’amanuiaga Takazawa, a recipient of this prestigious award and to recognise her contribution to Samoa.
Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi congratulated Erna for her efforts and her contribution to the community in her field of work and wishing her all the best in her upcoming meeting with the Queen.
“You have done Samoa and your family proud and keep up the good work for others to follow,” said Tuilaepa.
Namulauulu Sami Leota, Samoa’s representative to the Queen’s Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust together with the Samoa Chamber of Commerce organised a fundraiser in July 2013.
Funds raised supported projects that aim to make a real and enduring impact on the lives of those who live within the Commonwealth, across all generations and geological boundaries.
The Trust aimed to deliver projects that are a fitting and enduring tribute to Her Majesty, The Queen.
“There will be more awards coming up from the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust,” said Namulauulu, Her Majesty’s Representative in Samo.
“The award received by Erna is encouraging and should motivate the young leaders of Samoa that they can also achieve the same, each year from 2014-2018 60 exceptional leaders will be selected to receive a Queens Young leaders award.”
Successful awardees of this programme will receive mentoring and online learning provided by the University of Cambridge; attend a week long programme in the UK followed by receipt of their Queens Award personally from her Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
