Westpac Samoa has recruited a new Head of Business Banking in Samoa.

He is Edward Yee and his role is to drive the bank’s relationships with business customers throughout the country and oversee the continued uptake of Westpac’s innovative commercial solutions.

Mr. Yee began his new role on the 22nd May and is based in Apia, reporting to Westpac Samoa’s Country Head, Cameron Penfold.

Mr. Yee is passionate about empowering and providing local solutions to business customers in the Pacific.

He has more than 20 years’ experience in banking when he first joined Westpac in Fiji in 1989.

Most recently, Mr. Yee held the position of Area Manager, Western and Northern Divisions for Westpac Fiji’s Business Banking team: a position he held for three years.

In his previous role with the bank, he focused on developing the Westpac brand and enhancing Fiji’s sales and service performance, maximising growth opportunities and contributing to the overall success of the bank’s business strategies.

Cameron Penfold, Country Head, Westpac Samoa, said he is excited to welcome Mr. Yee into the team in Samoa.

“With his strong experience in banking, terrific people skills and thorough knowledge of our innovative business solutions, we know he’ll go far in driving to ensure we continue to be the bank to do business with,” Mr. Penfold said.

Mr. Penfold added that Mr. Yee has been tasked with providing a further boost to Westpac’s reputational standing as a leader in financial markets and helping the bank expand its reach across the commercial sector, including infrastructure development projects and tourism.

Westpac operates in seven Pacific countries - Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands and Samoa – through its network of more than 50 branches, 100 ATMs, thousands of merchants and In-Store Banking facilities.
